I love to study Jesus. John’s gospel says Jesus was the Word (logos) and he was there in the beginning. Through the Word all things were made. Then the Word came and lived with us to make God known to us. And if we believe in Jesus, we have the right to become children of God.

So follow me on this: Jesus was God and was with God at the beginning of creation. God would create us so that we could become his children. The key to make that happen would be Jesus coming to earth to reveal God to us. And yet there was at least 4000 years between the creation of Adam to the birth of Jesus.

The life of Jesus was to be the focal point of all of history – before and after. Between Adam and Jesus there has to be signs and hints from God that Jesus was coming right? Absolutely! There were so many signs and prophecies about Jesus that we won’t be able to cover them all in 365 days. All of history pointed to Jesus.

So we are going to go day by day and take a look at what the Old Testament had to say about Jesus. Every day we will choose an event, symbol, prophecy, feast or festival to see how it pointed to Jesus. I hope you will enjoy learning about Jesus through the lens of history.
